Diver Derby 2019!
3rd Annual Big Creek Diver Derby
January 10 – January 13 2019
Get your boat, shells, decoys and dogs ready!
Thursday Jan 10 is scouting and move in day at Big Creek Lodge. We can check in anytime after 3pm.
Manny and Jim are hosting the dinner Thursday night. We will have an induction ceremony for our two FNG’s and review the official Derby rules.
Friday Jan 11 is Day 1 of Diver derby – 1/2 hour before sunrise to sunset. Roy and Joe will host the Friday dinner
Saturday Jan 12 is Day 2 ending at sunset. BG and Lee will host the dinner on Saturday night.
Once the final tally is in and any appeals or grievances are settled, we will have an awards ceremony for the victors.
If necessary, we will have a rules committee meeting to finalize the rules for the 2020 derby.
Sunday Jan 13 is a free day – I know some may have to go home early on Sunday, others may elect to hunt. Either way, we need to be moved out by Noon on Sunday.

2019 Diver Derby Rules
- All teams begin hunting as soon as their decoys are deployed
- First diver down = 1 point (confirmed via text with photo and time stamp)
- First 2-man Bluebill limit = 4 points (confirmed via text/photo)
- CONSERVATION BONUS: all drake Bluebills = 3 bonus points
- Diver drakes = 3 points each (include bluebill, bufflehead, cans, ring neck, goldeneye, merganser)
- Puddle duck drakes = 2 points each
- All hens (any species) = 1 point each
- Sea ducks (must have permit) = 1 point
- Coots = 1/2 point
